Problem Statement

Modern applications rely on distributed microservices deployed across cloud environments. However, developers and students often struggle to understand how failures propagate across these interconnected services. Issues such as latency spikes, service crashes, network partitions, and retry storms can cause cascading failures that are difficult to visualize, diagnose, and reproduce. Existing chaos engineering tools used by large companies are complex and require real infrastructure, making them inaccessible for beginners or educational use. There is a need for an interactive platform that allows users to design distributed system architectures, simulate different types of failures, and observe their impact in real time. Such a system would help developers safely experiment with resilience mechanisms like retries, circuit breakers, and fallbacks while gaining a deeper understanding of distributed system behavior.
