Problem Statement
Off‑highway vehicles operating in forests, mines, and urban canyons often suffer from unreliable GPS signals due to multipath interference, signal blockage, and environmental obstructions. This leads to inaccurate localization, which compromises safety, navigation efficiency, and operational reliability. Existing GPS‑IMU systems struggle to maintain long‑term accuracy during GPS outages, and conventional odometry is prone to drift and terrain‑induced errors. There is a critical need for a resilient, infrastructure‑aware localization solution that can sustain accurate positioning in GPS‑challenged environments.
