Communities are increasingly vulnerable to multiple natural and man-made hazards such as floods, earthquakes, fires, heatwaves, and air pollution. Existing warning systems are often hazard-specific, delayed, or not easily accessible at the local level. There is a need for an integrated, low-cost, real-time multi-hazard early warning system that can detect environmental threats and provide timely alerts to reduce risk, damage, and loss of life.
