Project Title: SafeGuard SOS: Real-Time Women's Safety Network with Shake-Triggered Alerts, Live Tracking & Multi-Channel CoordinationProblem Statement: In emergency situations, especially related to women's personal safety, victims often struggle to get timely help due to delays in communication, lack of real-time location sharing, and limited coordination between nearby people and authorities. Many existing safety applications only send alerts to a few pre-set contacts and do not provide a system that connects community members, nearby helpers, or response teams in a coordinated way. As a result, valuable time is lost during critical moments when immediate support could prevent harm. Solution (Your Project – SafeGuard SOS): A full-stack, mobile-first emergency response platform built with React Native (Expo), Node.js + Express + Socket.io backend, and Twilio for multi-channel alerts. Key features include: Shake-to-SOS detection (3 shakes trigger) with a 5-second countdown and cancel option Automatic audio recording and silent mode Real-time GPS location streaming every 30 seconds via WebSockets Instant SMS and WhatsApp alerts to emergency contacts Live web tracking dashboard (track.html) showing location trail and updates Fake incoming call screen for distraction/disguise Direct dialing to emergency numbers (100 / 1091) Offline fallback and mock modes for quick demos This integrated system enables faster, more coordinated assistance by broadcasting real-time situation data to trusted contacts and providing a monitoring interface — dramatically reducing response time in crises.
