PahadSathi — Offline Emergency Care & Evacuation Network for Mountain Communities Remote Himalayan and mountain communities often face critical delays in emergency healthcare. During accidents, cardiac emergencies, pregnancy complications, snakebites, respiratory distress, or disasters, patients may be far from suitable healthcare facilities and unable to access timely support. The problem becomes more severe because mobile networks and internet connectivity are often weak or unavailable. Existing emergency and telemedicine solutions generally depend on stable connectivity, live video calls, and centralized coordination, which are unreliable in remote villages. Road closures caused by landslides, heavy rainfall, debris, traffic, or damaged bridges can also block ambulance routes and delay evacuation. In addition, families and first responders may not have immediate access to essential patient information such as blood group, allergies, chronic diseases, ongoing medicines, emergency contacts, and previous medical conditions. Local health workers, volunteers, transport providers, hospitals, and community authorities may work separately without a shared system to track the case, assign responders, identify the nearest suitable facility, or communicate route conditions. There is a need for an offline-first, low-bandwidth, multilingual emergency-care coordination platform that can help communities raise an SOS, identify emergency warning signs, preserve essential health information, alert nearby responders, support store-and-forward medical consultation, and guide patients towards safer evacuation routes and appropriate healthcare facilities. PahadSathi aims to reduce the last-mile emergency-care gap in mountain regions by enabling faster, coordinated, and resilient healthcare response even when connectivity and transportation infrastructure fail.
