## Problem Statement Every day, restaurants, hotels, events, hostels, and households generate large amounts of surplus food that is still edible but often ends up in the trash. At the same time, orphanages, NGOs, shelters, and economically disadvantaged communities struggle to access sufficient meals. The major problem is the lack of an efficient, real-time platform that connects **food donors with verified NGOs and people in need** before the food becomes unusable. Currently, surplus food is often managed through informal calls, messages, or manual coordination, making the process slow, unorganized, and difficult to track. This leads to unnecessary food waste while people in need remain underserved. **FoodBridge aims to solve this problem by creating a technology-driven platform that connects restaurants and other food donors with verified NGOs, volunteers, and communities in need. The platform enables donors to list surplus food, automatically identify nearby recipients, coordinate pickup and delivery, and track the social and environmental impact of every donation.** Our goal is to **reduce food waste, improve food redistribution, and ensure that surplus food reaches people who need it instead of ending up in landfills.**
