FIN//NEXT 2027 is a national virtual hackathon by HackIndia, bringing together developers, innovators and emerging founders to reinvent digital payments and build solutions across fintech, payment infrastructure, financial security and intelligent finance. Participating teams will gain access to industry-led challenges, technical mentorship, opportunities to showcase working prototypes and engage with leading fintech companies, creating a platform to turn innovative ideas into real-world financial technology solutions.
A National Virtual Fintech Hackathon | January 18 – February 28, 2027
The future of finance is being built now. From real-time payments and intelligent financial infrastructure to digital identity and fraud prevention, the financial technology landscape is evolving rapidly. FIN//NEXT 2027, presented by HackIndia Originals, brings together developers, innovators, engineers and emerging founders from across India to build solutions for the next generation of digital finance.
This is more than a conventional hackathon. It is a national innovation challenge designed around real-world financial technology problems, encouraging participants to move beyond ideas and develop practical, technology-driven solutions.
Participants will explore opportunities across three key areas of financial innovation:
Reimagine how money moves. Develop solutions around payment infrastructure, transaction processing, merchant experiences, payment orchestration, settlement automation and seamless digital commerce.
Build a more secure financial ecosystem. Explore AI-powered fraud detection, identity verification, deepfake prevention, transaction monitoring, financial API security and risk intelligence.
Make financial services smarter and more accessible. Develop solutions for credit intelligence, alternative underwriting, SME financing, responsible lending, financial data analysis and embedded finance.

This is an open hackathon: bring any problem you care about and build something real that solves it. Judges look for a working demo, a clear problem, and a team that can explain its choices.
Open to students, developers, professionals, researchers and startup founders across India.
Participants can compete individually or in teams of 2–4 members.
Every submission must address at least one official track: PAYMENTS//NEXT, FINTRUST or CREDIT//ACCESS.
Projects must be original. Plagiarism, copied submissions and unauthorised use of third-party intellectual property are strictly prohibited.
Participants are free to use AI tools, APIs, open-source frameworks and other relevant technologies. All significant third-party tools and AI-generated components must be disclosed.
