Public and shared Wi-Fi networks (colleges, cafes, transit hubs) expose everyday users to invisible attacks that most security tools don't address at the consumer level — fake "evil-twin" access points impersonating trusted networks, ARP spoofing that lets attackers intercept traffic, and SSL-stripping that silently downgrades secure connections to steal credentials. Ordinary users have no real-time way to know when this is happening to them. We're building NetShield, a tool that automatically and continuously monitors a user's network for all three threats at once — detecting evil-twin APs via cross-vendor SSID broadcasts, ARP spoofing via conflicting IP-to-MAC claims, and SSL-stripping via HTTPS domains observed over plain HTTP — surfacing them through a live alert dashboard with real-time notifications, bringing enterprise-grade network defense to everyday users.
